Ground Nest depicts an abstracted Golden eagle’s nest made from Corten steel perched atop two concrete seating structures. Resting in the nest is a large bronze egg, with an inscribed aerial view of the Red Lake River and partial map of the city. The percent for art project is inspired by the local geography in combination with the nesting habits of the campus mascot, the Golden eagle.
